Appreciation
Each morning, The Sample sends you one article from a random blog or newsletter that matches up with your interests. When you get one you like, you can subscribe to the writer with one click.
(Sponsorships allow me to produce this missive and send it out to everyone for free—so a big thanks to the sponsors, and if you’re keen to sponsor an issue of AG please respond for details) :)
Appreciation
There’s evidence that kind acts and words often have a bigger positive impact than we might suspect.
Think back to a time when someone paid you a small, out-of-nowhere compliment and you’ll know this to be the case.
I came across The Appreciation Effect recently, and I love the concept and rationale behind it: you write a note of appreciation for someone and invite other people (friends, family, etc) to do the same. That person then receives these notes as a sort of email campaign, giving them a daily dose of good vibes and love.
The site is free to use (you can make a donation if you want), and it’s exactly the type of project I like to see on the internet (this is what modern communication tools should be used for).
Here’s a link to the project if you want to learn more or start an appreciation campaign for someone in your life: https://theappreciationeffect.com/
